Our tables are finished with microcement, a decorative technique based on lime, acrylic, and pigment. This technique is applied by hand, giving an imperfectly perfect result that gives each table a unique appearance with color nuances, unevenness, and small irregularities. These features are part of the product's character and the technique. The appearance of the furniture is also determined by the degree of polishing and the final finishing layer. Each piece of furniture or object is entirely unique and handmade in our own studio. The colors are manually blended using natural pigments. As a result, the final outcome may slightly differ from the chosen color sample. The samples are only a color indication. The tables are finished achieved with a water-based PU varnish
Every Armand&Francine piece is completely unique. Each item is crafted in our own workshop and finished with a decorative technique based on lime, acrylic, and pigment. This technique is applied by hand, giving an imperfectly perfect result, making each table have a unique appearance with color nuances and small irregularities. The micro cement is wear-resistant and impermeable to moisture throughout, and must be protected from stains, just like natural stone. All of our indoor furniture is treated in the final stage with three layers of PU varnish. MortexⓇ is made from, among other things, lime, so definitely avoid using harsh cleaning products such as Cilit Bang, Antikal, vinegar, and/or bleach. Do not use cleaning agents with acids or lemon. A daily cleaning with a cloth or sponge and mild detergent is sufficient.
The material is easy to maintain, and thanks to the protective layers, most dirt is repelled. However, this doesn't mean that stains from daily use such as coffee, wine, fruit juices, spices, lemon juice, oils, etc., should not be left on the surface for a long period. Also, avoid leaving large amounts of water or wet objects on the surface for extended periods. These stains must be cleaned immediately. If left too long, fats, dyes (from wine, coffee, etc.), water, and other substances may penetrate the protective layers and leave stains. Extra caution should be taken with spices and foods that contain pigments, such as turmeric, beetroot, and flower pollen, especially from lilies. These stains must be removed immediately with water, cleaning agent, and a soft sponge. Never use the abrasive side of the sponge to avoid scratches.
Do not place candles directly on the tables; always use a holder or tray. It is also recommended not to bring hot pans and pots into direct contact with the surface, as this prevents thermal shock. Never use the table as a cutting surface. Be careful with hard and sharp objects. The table legs are finished with felt pads. The table should always be placed on a dry and grease-free surface; if unsure, consult your flooring or parquet installer. Be careful when cleaning your floor to ensure no water and/or soap residues remain under the legs. This will prevent marks on your floor. Our furniture is suitable for indoor use only and should under no circumstances be used outdoors.
COLORS
The colors are manually blended using natural pigments.
As a result, the final outcome may slightly differ from the chosen color sample. The samples are only a color indication.
Color nuances, unevenness, and/or irregularities are completely normal and inherent to Mortex. This includes, among other things: color differences on a single surface due to the degree of polishing, small scratches, dust particles, grains, pits, and different "patterns" (such as clouds, streaks, etc.)
